Intended Learners

The Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology (CIO) is designed for interventional radiologists, surgeons, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of cancer or looking to expand into this arena.

Learning Objectives

After attending the Symposium on Clinical Interventional Oncology (CIO), participants should be able to:

Describe catheter-based procedures to treat solid tumors, using the latest techniques and technologies

Assess the most appropriate therapeutic agent in catheter-directed therapy for hepatic malignancies

Demonstrate appropriate decision-making skills and techniques in ablation involving tumors of the kidney, bone, liver, and lung

Apply appropriate technique and biomarker testing of percutaneous biopsies

Determine the most appropriate imaging modalities during assessment, treatment, and follow-up of patients

Analyze the evidence behind the various modalities utilized in interventional oncology

Physician Assistants

NACCME has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with the AAPA CME Criteria. The conference is designated for 18.5 AAPA Category 1 credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Radiologic Technicians (ARRT Credits)

CIO, taking place Friday, October 22–Sunday, October 24, 2021 will be submitted for approval of ARRT Cat A+ Continuing Education credits by the Association of Vascular & Interventional Radiographers (AVIR).

AVIR is an ARRT Recognized Continuing Education Evaluating Mechanism (RCEEM).

UEMS/EACCME CME Credit Recognition

The American Medical Association (AMA) has an agreement of mutual recognition of CME credit with the UEMS. Under the terms of this agreement, the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), the accrediting arm of the UEMS, will convert CME credit for live activities certified by the AMA.

Requirements for Credit

To be eligible for documentation of credit for each session attended, attendees must participate in the full activity and complete the online evaluation form for each session.
